Celebration Station

This weekend, the whole family felt the need to get out of the house. As much as I love Paris, there isnt much to do, so we googled miniature golf courses and found one near Dallas. It was quite a drive, but so worth it! We had so much fun! We stopped about halfway through the trip for lunch at Chick-fil-A in greenville and that in and of itself would have been enough for the kids (no Chik-fil-A in Paris).

Then, on the way to Dallas we passed over a land bridge through the middle of a lake and that was also pretty awesome for the kids. We played I spy a sailboat and first one to see a sailboat gets a high five and we learned all about islands and such. Then came miniature golf at The Celebration Station...

When we first came in, some guy had won over 200 tickets but didnt want them and gave them to the kids to exchange for prizes, which was fun. Abigail came home with a heart slinky and Seth left his hacky sack there.

So miniature golf was a blast! Abigail seemed to grasp the idea prety well, and actually did awesome. I was transported back to Castle Park as a child with my dad. Gee, how many times did I hear him tell me to aim! Fun times. And Seth, well, he found that it was very fun to swing a club even if he couldnt make that ball go where he wanted it to go. Besides, he could always just roll it from his hand and that worked too, so why get frustrated. I love that kid!

The day turned out to be hotter than we thought, though, and the kids pooped out halfway through the first round. Since Daddy had paid for 2 rounds, they exchanged the unplayed round for a ride for each of them on the airplanes and on the train. We SO got the good end of the deal on that one! They had a blast, even if Seth thought the airplanes were too hot to sit on! Abigail kept ringing the bell on the train and yelling "All aboard!" just like on the train video from the library. Silly girl.

Then we let them sit on any game they wanted to in the arcade (no money of course, but to them, whats the difference!?) for 45 minutes and then we came home. Such a fun day!!
