61 Degrees!! Park here we come!

Friday was Daddy's day off and was jam packed full of fun for the kids. It's been so cold and the kids have been getting super restless being inside of our house non-stop (when its hard to keep warm inside in jackets and socks with fleece and flannel lined booties that go up to your knees and you find yourself doing your baking in your apron AND fleece beanie and matching scarf, well, going outside is sort of out of the question). So it was off to the park we went and the kids were so excited. Both Abigail and Seth looked completely shocked at the thrill of a real slide again (its been a couple of weeks since we've been to a park). We brought their little slide into the house a while back, but the slide is literally about 2.5 feet in length and is barely worth their effort. So the kids were stoked. They ran around like crazy with huge smiles on their faces and didn't even bicker over who got to go first or anything. Earlier in the morning, we went to something called a pre-k play day at a local church here. It's basically a preschool group that gets together for an hour twice a month and they read stories and do a craft and have games and activities and its always themed and the kids really enjoyed it. The theme this time was "pajama party" so there were about 15 kids running around in their jammies and having a blast. My neighbor made a comment in the evening that Seth seemed to be in such a great mood because he just wandered around with a smile on his face while playing. How sad that this has been atypical of my little goobie lately! Oh well, the poor guy is obviously bored. Maybe we'll have to have a pajama party at our own house once a week!
I even got to work on my quilt for Seth a little bit and then Christian and I read 3 chapters from our new book. All in all, what a BLESSED day off! :)
