This week, for our family afternoon we decided to go over Ephesians 4:29 which says, "Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth but that which is necessary for edification, that it might impart grace to the hearers." So, what does that have to do with pizza??????? Well, we shared with the kids that edification means to build someone up. Our words can edify (build each other up), or they can tear down. We tied in the pizza by likening it to building up some great toppings on a pizza. When we say mean words to brother, its like throwing screws on his pizza. It isnt nice and wont taste good and will even hurt. But saying nice things, like I love you and nice try when he cant quite get something right, well, thats like tossing on some tasty pepperoni or salami or pineapples or broccoli (yes, my kids like broccoli and happily eat it). So, the kids had a great time making their own dinner and then we sat down to watch The Piglet Movie. ( One to miss, by the way.) :)
